Greece

Ionic sea, Aegean, Cyclades, Dodecanese

Greece with its legendary island world is a unique holiday and sailing paradise. The originality and spaciousness of the Cyclades, as well as the sometimes rough wind conditions make these cruises a dream for sailors and those who are looking for adventure sailing trips. Lonely bays between rugged rocks, surrounded by the bright blue of the Greek sea, as well as lively and sleepy places with narrow alleys and steep stairs offer a lot of variety.

Territory overview Greece

The Ionian Sea with its archipelago of the same name lies on the Greek west coast and stretches from Albania in the north to the Peloponnese in the south.

Text

The 56 islands of the Cyclades, of which 24 are inhabited, form a loose circle ("kyklos" = ancient Greek circle), in the middle of which lies the island of Delos, sacred in ancient times. This area still promises real adventure, with lots of wind and original, sparsely populated islands. The wind situation, especially the famous Meltemi, which provides beautiful and sporty sailing days in the summer months, is especially popular with many crews. The numerous islands and bays invite you to linger. This country has not only beautiful coastal landscapes to offer, but also witnesses of the ancient past.
The Dodecanese archipelago extends into the Aegean Sea in the shape of a crescent moon. From the Turkish mainland coast westwards to Crete there are 12 large and about 40 smaller islands. It has both forested and bare islands, with cypress groves, mountainous landscapes, dreamlike bathing bays and nostalgic harbour villages. From Kos as an ideal starting point you can reach the islands between Rhodes and Samos to the north and south.
